EYFS - Acorns

Welcome to EYFS!

This what we have been up to in Nursery and Reception this year.

We enjoyed helping spring clean the classroom, we all got a bit wet helping to clean our equipment.

Big Acorns have really been enjoying doing drawing club and as the weather has been so nice we have been able to do it outside.

In Science week, Mr Huggett set us a challenge to see how far we could stretch a curly wurly.

Acorns enjoyed a book scavenger hunt.

We have been exploring Lunar New Year. This is the year of the tiger. If you click on the link below you can see our amazing dragon we made and the dance we created.

We discovered this video which might help explain what had landed in our playground.

We could hardly believe it, overnight we had a crash landing just outside of our playground. We are not sure but we think it might have been aliens.

A winter walk.

This week we have been looking at Winter and talking about how it is different to Autumn and why.

We wrote our letters to Santa then we set off on a Christmassy walk to post our letters, it was lovely, there were even candy canes hanging in the trees for us.

We have been looking at the artist Jackson Pollock, we tried recreating his art. It was fun, lots of us ended up with Jackson Pollock shoes as well.

During PE we have been using our climbing and swinging skills, we only went as far as we felt safe doing so.

We have been looking at Halloween. We went on a walk on a frosty morning looking for spiders webs. We also had a very exciting visitor, we had a witch come to visit who wore the same shoes as Mrs Webb, we couldn’t believe it.

We went on a walk around our school grounds to see if we could spy any signs of Autumn. Have a look and see what we found.
